WP-Admin Login FAQs
Where do I log in to the WordPress admin?
Open your site’s admin login page at /wp-admin (for example, https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin). If you’re already signed in, you’ll be taken straight to the Dashboard. Otherwise, enter your WordPress username and password to continue.
I forgot my WordPress password—what should I do?
On the login screen, click “Lost your password?” and enter the email address (or username) tied to your admin account. Follow the reset link sent to your inbox. If you don’t see it, check spam/junk and try again after a few minutes.
Why does /wp-admin redirect me back to the homepage?
This usually means you’re not authenticated (expired cookies) or your account doesn’t have access. Try logging out, then go to /wp-login.php and sign in again. If you can log in but still can’t reach the Dashboard, your user role may need admin permissions.
I’m getting a 404 or error on the login page—how can I access?
First, confirm the URL is correct: /wp-admin or /wp-login.php on your exact domain (including www vs non-www). If it still errors, clear browser cache/cookies and try an incognito window. If the site uses a security plugin that changes the login URL, you’ll need that custom URL.
I can’t access the admin email or reset link—can you help?
Yes. Use the contact form to request access help and include your site domain and the username/email you believe is associated with the account. If you have hosting access, mention it—credential resets are fastest when we can verify ownership and update the admin email if needed.
